Call for Abstracts
The Skin of Colour Training UK Committee invite abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations for the upcoming conference on 22nd-24th January 2025.
Abstract submissions will open on the 28th of June 2024.
Information and submission instructions:
We invite delegates to submit abstracts of original research, clinical cases or audit and quality improvement projects related to skin of colour dermatology, towards any of the following categories:

Paediatric dermatology

Dermatological Surgery

Clinicopathological cases

Cutaneous allergy
-
Infectious diseases
-
Cosmetic dermatology
-
Basic sciences
-
Medical Education
We accept abstracts from medical students, junior doctors, nurses, medical trainees, dermatology trainees or hospital grade doctors and consultants.
Submission instructions:

You can submit more than one abstract. Submission is only via the online portal below.

Each abstract must fit into the text box with a maximum word count of 400 words. Images and table are not accepted.

The abstract should ideally cover study aims, methods, results, and conclusion. Subheadings are not needed.

You can include a maximum of 2 references. Please include them in the body of the abstract and in Vancouver style.

The selection process will be anonymous, therefore please do not include any identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals or medical schools in the body of the text. If this is not adhered to, the abstract will be rejected.

The work submitted must be original and if previously presented or published elsewhere then this must be declared in the abstract.

If you have received commercial funding for your work, this must be declared in the abstract.

Abstracts will be selected by the committee and the best entries will be invited to present at the conference.

If the abstract is accepted, the presenter is required to register to the conference and pay the relevant fees.

The closing date for abstracts has been extended to 18th of November 2024. We expect to inform you of the outcome in the week commencing 9th December 2024 (previously 2nd December).

How to submit
Abstracts must be submitted online via the portal below. Please fill in ALL the required fields and please ensure correct spelling. The abstract can be directly copied into the provided text box. Please note the word count is limited to 400.
Amending a submission
If you need to make any changes to a submitted abstract, you will need to resubmit the corrected abstract via the same portal. The body of the abstract must begin with the statement “AMENDED ABSTRACT”. You must also email (info@soctuk.org) to inform us of your resubmission.
Please check all abstracts thoroughly before submitting to make sure it is correct.
Withdrawing a submission
If you would like to withdraw your abstract, please contact us at info@soctuk.org
